"10:30 pm, in the middle of the summer heat, in the corner of a bar set up in the yard of a disused factory, I sip the local IPA with some friends. A DJ plays music that brings me out of my torpor. It's organic, it's live. It reminds me of jazz but with a very electro tone. I get up to get closer to the speakers, tapping the tempo with my fingertips on the wet glass. A fusion of trance-like beats and more daring improvisations. It reminds me of the time I found this mysterious compilation of beatmakers in a small vinyl shop in Berlin... "

This new label from Brussels is the realization of a common dream of drummer Antoine Pierre and manager Paméla Malempré: to develop a creation and distribution platform dedicated to current music related to jazz. Beats, jazz, electro sounds, acoustic instruments, improvisation, trance...

Shapes no Frame also aims to create a vibrant community of musicians who fit into this network of independent and alternative music, and in the philosophy of the label: shapes, but no frame.

Thanks to the confidence of Damien Waselle, the artistic director of [PIAS] Belgium, the label can now officially be born in collaboration with their international distribution.
